Alfred Warne began a cordial factory in Horsham during the 1870s. A quick scan of the will and probate records held by the Public Records Office of Victoria shows that:
Alfred Warne, cordial manufacturer, Horsham died on 13th February 1889 leaving all his estate to his wife Olive.
Olive Warne, widow, 152 Peel-street, Windsor died on 20th October 1907. The property in Horsham had been sold to John Benjamin Head on the 2nd April 1904 for £400 with £200 still owing at the time of Olive’s death.
John Benjamin Head, laborer, Horsham died on 7th February 1918. He held no real estate at the time of his death but almost half the value of his estate was “cordial machinery £30”.
