H. J. Wilson / Port Victor. Base Mark: FBH / (Dot). (Victor Harbour, South Australia). Aerated Water. Codd. Applied top. All way pour. Aqua. 10 oz. 232 mm. 1890s
Very Good. (7.4). A bit hazy throughout, this has been oiled internally. Tiny impact to inner front left lip has an associated inner lip bruise over about 7 x 4 mm. 3 mm pitted scratch to inner rear heel. Front left heel has a thin 17 mm deepish scratch. Tiny inclusion to upper rear has a very fine surface fracture associated over only 4 mm. 4 x 3 mm slightly discoloured fisheye to front right near the S of Wilson. Small surface bubble or two. Little fisheyes and impact marks scattered around. Just a bit scuffy throughout giving it a dull appearance, these are scuffs and scratches but nothing that looks to be overly deep. Some high point wear across the embossing as well. A rare bottle, we have only ever sold one before way back in Auction 23, but it had the OO base mark, and so this is the first FBH marked example that we have sold. Port Victor was the early name for Victor Harbour prior to about 1921. Estimate: $400-600
