Empire / Compys / Pure Blended / (Lion's Head) / Tea / Quality - D / 5 lb net. (Robert Harper, Victoria). Tins. . Triangle shaped tin with fold out pourer. 273 mm. 1930s
Fair. (N/A). Great tin from Robert Harper. This must have been a trade mark shape for Harper, note the green Empire bottles from Harper are this exact same shape when looking from the bottom! The print is only on one side, this is faded with some wear, scratches and so forth, but remains legible. The other two sides have vines all over with small leaves. There is a patch of rust to one of these side. Rust along the bottom as well. Extremely rusty under the base on one side as it is totally rusted through with a large hole, and some smaller holes along this edge under the base as well, rest of the base is rusty but solid. All of this is under the base and not at all noticeable when on display. The top has corrosion, but no holes. The vines would have been across the top, but are almost totally illegible under the rust. Spout folds out nicely, this also has some corrosion but is very solid. Great tin from this well known company, not one you see often. Estimate: $100-150
