The Martin / Poison Bottle // Patented // Poison // 4 oz. No base mark. Embossed lines to the lower edges, end and shoulder. . Poison. Green. Patented shape. Tool finished double collar top. Bright Green. 4 oz. 148 mm. 1910s
Good. (6.1). Has a large fracture of about 12 x 12 mm at the "front" under the 4 oz embossing and then runs 30 mm along the underside edge of the panel with Poison embossed. Rest of the bottle is very nice with some slight scuffing on the rounded back and some wear on the base. The interesting part of this one is that it has never been buried. Taped on the bottom in shaky handwriting is Tamworth August 1908. The date may not be correct however as the vendors grandmother credited the contents of this bottle with saving her life during the Spanish Flu epidemic (which was 1919/20). Once again this is the same general region as the previous two green examples we have sold. It does seem that a chemist or merchant somewhere in that part of New South Wales was using these bottles for one of their concoctions.
