George Lamb / (Lamb) / Thursday Island // Haynes / Patent / Bottle / Rd 27087 / Barnett & Foster / Maker / London. N. No base mark. (Queensland). Aerated Water. Patent. Applied top. Haynes Patent. Aqua. 6 oz. 191 mm. 1900s
Good. (6.3). An exceedingly rare bottle, we sold one two auctions ago which came from the same vendor, who only had two, this being the slightly poorer example condition wise. The lip is oval on this one, when you examine it closely there is an orange peel type effect on one side indicating that the shape has been caused by heat. 10 x 5 mm shallow chip/bruise to upper rear lip. 20 x 5 mm very shallow flake along the upper right lip. 4 x 7 mm sliver to outer right lip. Some nibbles to the front lip. 5 x 3 mm impact to upper left body. Hazy internally. 2 x 2 mm flake to lower front left. 3 x 3 mm flake to rear base edge, 2 x 3 mm flake near this. 23 mm wavy fracture through the SDA of Thursday, this does not go all the way through and may even be from making. Surface bubble to the lamb's legs, small surface flake next to this. Some fisheyes and impact marks. Some scuffs and scratches, although nothing deep. This is likely to be your last chance to purchase one of these extreme rarities. Estimate: $2000-3000
