M. E. Abbott / Registered / (Phoenix with halo around it) / Trade Mark / Launceston // Bratby & Hinchliffe / Manchester. No base mark. (Tasmania). Aerated Water. Codd. Applied top. Four way or Dobson type, oddly shaped flattened dimples. Aqua. 6 oz. 194 mm. 1890s
Very Good. (7.6). A little surface haze in places. Some inner dirt looks like it will soak out. Scuffed patch of wear to rear chamber. Upper rear body in the neck groove there is a small patch of pitted wear. A few little fisheyes. Little thin like to outer front lip is a little making split. Some fine scratches and minor marks. Really good example. These Bratby & Hinchliffe made examples have weird, flattened dimples. This particular version has the phoenix facing left, and with the sunburst type halo around the trade mark this is quite a hard to get variation. It is the first we have sold! Estimate: $100-150
