Frankston Springs / Coy / Trade (Serpent or Dolphin) Mark / Collingwood. No base mark. (Victoria). Aerated Water. Cork Stoppered. Applied top. Aqua. 26 oz. 278 mm. 1890s
Very Good. (7.1). Heavily stained throughout with several patches of rust as well. Some making surface splits around the upper lip. A few reasonably shallow burst bubbles, one is through the S of Frankston. The A of Frankston has an impact, the right arm of the A is flaked, there is a small chip at the top of this and an associated small bruise over about 5 x 2 mm. C of Collingwood has a flake over it of about 10 x 9 mm, this is reasonably shallow, but a bit nibbled, may actually be where some rust popped off? Rear heel has a fine but larger fisheye that is very shallow over about 5 x 5 mm, this is amongst rust and hard to see. 25 x 7 mm mark to mid left rear body is at the surface, but not sure what it is, basically looks slightly dimpled? Below this is a scratched patch. Inclusion to mid right neck has a very small star fracture from it, this is very minor. Some little fisheyes and impact marks. Some scratches and scuffs. An extremely rare bottle from Melbourne, this is the first I recall for sale in living memory. Estimate: $1000-1500
