M. E. Abbott / Trade (Phoenix) Mark / Launceston // Bratby & Hinchliffe / Manchester. Base mark: Dot. (Tasmania). Aerated Water. Codd. Applied top. Traditional codd style patent with two tear drops. Aqua. 10 oz. 228 mm. 1890s
Very Good. (7.6). Some inner dirt and maybe a few small patches of light haze. A few small patches of outer haze. The dirt should clean out OK. Really little flake to upper left rear. Some fisheyes, mostly around the base edge and chamber. Some nibbled wear to the lower rear embossing near the base edge. Some scratches and the odd scuff mark, nothing major by any means. Good example of an unusual bottle. This is the first Bratby & Hinchliffe made one way pour codd that we have sold from any company, including Abbott. Estimate: $150-200
