W. Hepburn / (WH Monogram) / Broken Hill. Potters stamp: The Bendigo Pottery / Epsom / Bendigo. (New South Wales). Ginger Beer. Cork Stoppered. Two tone, tan top, off white body. Black Print. 10 oz. 174 mm. 1910s
Repaired. (N/A). Some flakes and chips around the upper and inner lip have been very well repaired, doesn't look like there was anything major here. There has been much more extensive work done to the lower half of the front. The white section has been painted from around the bottom half of the trade mark down to the base edge. I think there must have been a large chunk out here, the lower print looks like it has been applied during the repair. The paint goes around to the right rear and to the left rear, leaving a 50 mm section that is unpainted to the rear and original. However, the potters stamp is in the painted section, this is original, and so the paint has simply been extended to blend it in. The actual size of the repair is unknown, but it is not small. The entire base is original though, so there was no deep chipping here. Couple of flakes under the heel. A rare bottle, we have never sold one. Whilst repaired, this does look quite good on the shelf. No grading here, don't know what has been done so can't grade it. Estimate: $50-75
