J. Sherwin (in upside down stamp). (Tasmania). Pottery. Stoneware. Stoneware Jar. Red / Orange. Impressed. 170 mm. 1850s
Very Good. (7.4). But does look rough. Lots of wear and grime around. Lip has 6 or so glaze chips up to about 6 x 6 mm with a bit of glaze wear and smaller nibbles in between. 18 x 12 mm chip or kiln kiss to the shoulder up from the stamp. Raised kiln kiss on the back. 8 x 6 mm chip under the front right base edge. Good clear stamp. Nice colours, will be a beauty with a clean. Estimate: $600-1000
