Leitches Creek / Mineral Spring / 6 No 00 / Daylesford. / Jenkin Bros. (Victoria). Aerated Water. Mineral Water. Pressurised, banded metal barrel with brass handle and brass gas inlet, brass screw cap and copper badge. 1 to 2 gallon. About 400 mm to top of handle. 1910s
Very Good. (N/A). What an amazing piece of history. Looks like the nozzle at the top is for gas of some sort, maybe for aerating the mineral water that this would have contained. The metal body is rusty throughout, but solid. It does have dints. The bands look to be another type of metal, these are not as rusty. Some knocks and marks. The badge is great, just minor dints and some discolouration. This truly is an amazing piece of history, looks like the Leitches Creek Mineral Spring was reserved as a public resort in 1907, but there really isn't a lot of information to be found on this spring at all. I have never seen anything like this before. Estimate: $300-400
