Dunn. (Sydney, New South Wales). Ginger Beer. Impressed. Convict type Ginger Beer. Tall skinny cylinder. Impressed. Grey/Brown. 10 oz. 162 mm. 1830s-1840s
Very Good. (7.6). Little scratch type mark to front upper lip. Some minor surface wear around shoulder. 25 x 7 mm flake under front left heel, part of this is glazed over, it is probably all from making. Regardless, it is quite shallow as well. Shallow 18 x 10 mm flake under rear heel as well. Some other little flakes around the heel. A few small glaze scuffs and the odd scratch or two. Making marks to be found on this lovely, early piece of Australian colonial pottery. This has a good strong stamp, note that this is different to the C. Dunn also on offer in this auction, they would make a great pairing! Estimate: $1000-2000
