Marked Doulton Manganous Carbon Patent. This would have screwed into a Doulton Manganous Carbon Filter (yes, you can get printed filters with these details on them and a thread inside that this piece would have screwed onto. This is the all important piece that actually does the filtering of the water. Some rust. Chips and flakes as well. Writing is hard to read due to the carbon flaking. Very interesting items, these would be rarer than the actual shell's that are so collectable. Estimate: $10-20
