N. D / T. Field / Potter / Sydney / Ja. 1849. (New South Wales). Ginger Beer. Cork Stoppered. Salt glaze. Impressed. Dump. 157 mm. 1849
Very Good. (7.1). Two small spots of wear to upper front and right lip. To the left is a dark kiln kiss type mark with an 8 x 6 mm associated mark which may be from making, or glaze wear? Rear lip has a little mark that is a kiln kiss, this is very shallow. Some fine wear around the shoulder edge and fine glaze flakes. A little rust to the right shoulder. 4 x 3 mm flake to front base edge. 5 x 3 mm example to front right base edge. 15 x 7 mm flake under the heel here too. 12 x 7 mm flake under heel to right of this. 17 x 9 mm chip under right base edge. 7 x 5 mm flake to right of this. 8 x 4 mm flake to right of this one. 10 x 4 mm chip to rear base edge, some wear and nibbles near this. A few surface kiln kiss type marks. Some rust to the body in places. Nice impressions, these dated Fields are very sought after, but to get a double stamped one is very rare indeed, this N. D example is a lovely and sought after piece.. Estimate: $2000-3000
