1. Square with kind of panelled shoulder/neck. Round indent to base. 2. Square, chamfered edges. Rounded tapered neck. Round indent to base. 3. Rectangular. Pattern to shoulder. Heavy line embossed across base edge on wide sides. British Registration Diamond to base. 4. Almost Square. Similar shoulder pattern but to short sides. Oval panels embossed on three sides. No base mark. 5. Square pickle with raised panels on all four sides. Round indent to base. (late Ern Taylor Collection). Goldfields. Pickle. Various 182, 171, 205, 224 & 189 mm. 1850s+
N/A. (N/A). 1. & 2. Both Very Good. Stained. Making imperfections. Small one is probably a little bit better condition. Both quite plain and yet fairly unusual goldfields pickles. 3. & 4. Rectangular one is Very Good. Dull throughout. Some scratches and scuffs. Can't read parts of the registration diamond. Taller one is Good but has a 40 mm crack on the edge of one panel and this has 13 and 8 mm cracks running off the bottom of it. Mostly shiny with light wear otherwise. 5. Fairly heavy stain all over. Glass has a bit of a rough/etched feel. Some rust attached low down on one panel. Nice early bottle. (late Ern Taylor Collection). Estimate: $50-100
