Blackall & Hunt / Newcastle and / Tamworth. Base mark: 4192. (New South Wales). Medicine. Chemist. Applied top with collar below the lip. Recessed front and side panels. Aqua. 4 oz. 146 mm. 1880s
Very Good. (7.3). Blackall & Hunt were established in Tamworth in 1869, they opened in Newcastle in 1881, this bottle must be from soon after that period. Stained throughout. Patch of rust to upper front left. One fine annealing mark to inner rear neck, basically a surface fracture, but from making. Right base edge has a little nibbled impact mark. Small fisheye to mid rear. Some scuffs and scratches. Until now, I didn't know Blackall & Hunt were even in Tamworth, this must be quite a rarity? We have a range of rare Newcastle chemists and pot lids in this auction.. Estimate: $50-75
