Pair of Tiles: 1. Sepia print tile with Roman Scene entitled Youth. British Registration Diamond to rear dating to 1883. 2. Minton's China Works Stoke On Trent tile depicting a farm scene. Pottery Tile 1. Ceramic tile with sepia print on white. 2. Ceramic tile with coloured farm scene including a cow and two pigs. 154 x 154 mm & 152 x 152 mm. 1880s
1. Good. 40 x 10 mm piece at top left has been glued back in, some nibbles along the join line. A few flakes down the left side. Some scratches. Great looking tile. 2. Very Good. Flaked at both upper corners. A few little flakes to bottom edge. A bit of wear to the edge on underside. Some grime. Has the Minto logo and details on the underside. Quite a fabulous tile, there are examples online to be found, but all monochrome. Apparently designed by William Wise in the 1880s era. I can't find reference to a coloured example like this.
