Pair of Saddle badges that have been put on a leather backing for display. Badges are both impressed: J. Thompson, Saddler, Devonport. (Tasmania). Metalware Saddle Badges Fancy metal saddle badges. Later leather display. Badges are 55 mm across. Late 1800s-1900s
Excellent. The badges themselves look unused. Interesting note on the back of the leather reads "These ornaments were found in a shed behind an old Saddler's shop. They were used to decorate bridle's of the work horse believed over 60 yrs old." Also written on the leather itself is the year 1971 which was when this little display was made.
