E. J. Prevôt. Plain oval slug plate to back. (Melbourne, Victoria) Aerated Water Torpedo Torpedo. Semi square collared lip. Aqua. 10 oz. 226 mm. 1850s
Very Good. Polished. Lip looks like it has had a shallow flake that has been smoothed over. Possibly the whole outer lip has just been rounded slightly but you can see a couple of pit marks and the like so the basic shape of the top is original. A little bit of etching and some haze inside the bottle. Remains of some pitting around. A few scratches. Really good example of this early and very rare Melbourne torpedo. Grade: 7.4 Estimate: $700 - 1000
