(Large Kangaroo) / Lithgow. Pottery Lithgow Large terracotta flower pot. 230 mm. 1900s
Good. The hole in the base from making has a large firing split across it going right across the base, you can see daylight through this split, but it is from making. Chip to base edge is glazed over from making. About 30-40 mm up from the base is a crack going most of the way around, probably from firing as well. A few spots of wear through the glaze. Some scratches and minor marks. Items with this large stamp are very sought after. The kangaroo is deeply impressed. A lovely piece of pottery, probably should grade higher as damage is mostly from manufacture. Grade: 6 Estimate: $100 - 150
