Ye Olde Englishe / Stone / Ginger / Beer / Brewed / (Bell) / H. J. Gamble, 6 King St. Nth. Fitzroy. No potters stamp. (Victoria) Ginger Beer Cork Stoppered Two tone, tan top, off white body. Black print. 13 oz. 215 mm. 1910s
Good. There have been some upper lip flakes that have been filled and coloured, these have not been deep chips by any means. Hairline under right lip goes down to the bottom of the tan neck. Another comes off this shortly below the lip and goes just into the white at the upper rear body. Front left near base edge there is some painting as well where a repair has occurred. Painting is up 40 mm from base and across about 30 mm, but there is no repair under base edge, so was either a chip to the lower body, or maybe a horseshoe crack has been repaired? A few little slivers to base edge. Glaze is a bit worn with some discolouration. Some scratches and minor marks. A decent looking example of quite a hard to get bottle. Grade: 6 Estimate: $100 - 150
