Macmoodie's / Wonthaggi. Base Mark: M. (Victoria) Aerated Water Codd Dobson or Four way type. Spun finished top. Aqua. 10 oz. 231 mm. 1910s
Excellent. Crude lip, a curved streak of dark glass to the front, a fold or two and a surface bubble to lower inner lip. All from making. Tiny nibbled spot to inner front chamber looks to be a tiny burst bubble. Little impact next to rear dimple, the other rear dimple has a short surface fracture in it, this is very shallow. Some fine scuffs and a couple of fisheyes to front shoulder. Short, shallow pitted scratch to mid right across the seam. A few other scratches to rear are slightly pitted but not deep. Fine scuff mark to mid right rear. A few other fine scuffs and scratches. Some little fisheyes, not many at all though. Embossing is very strong, there is a little impact flake to the W and a few other letters have some small nicks and spots of wear. A great example of an extremely rare bottle from Gippsland, Victoria, the first to be offered at auction in living memory. Grade: 8.1 Estimate: $2000 - 3000
