Jas. Fairley / Merchant / Shepparton. No potters stamp. (Victoria) Demijohn Impressed Two tone, tan top, impressed. 1/2 Gallon. 245 mm. 1900s
Good. Repaired handle, looks like one has been used from another demijohn and joined at each end, a decent job, the colour of the paint is not 100% correct though. Lip is great with just one or two tiny glaze nicks. Just a couple of small making marks to the undamaged base edge. A little surface wear to the white glaze to upper rear body, this is barely noticeable, a little to the front as well, all around the lower shoulder region. A little surface grime. Some scratches and minor scuffs to the shiny glaze. Nice glaze drips to the front from making. A very rare country Victorian demijohn which is in great condition other than the restored handle. Grade: 6 Estimate: $200 - 300
