Sold for A$60
Victoria Hotel / Roebourne // Reliance Patent / Sole Maker / Dan Rylands / Barnsley. (Western Australia) Aerated Water Codd Acme patent hybrid. Applied top. Sand blasted. Aqua. 10 oz. 206 mm. 1880s
Broken. As can be seen, half the top is missing. The rear middle dimple is still there showing this is clearly an Acme Patent, and not a Reliance Patent as written on the bottle. Flakes down from the break at the front. Little impact at left side of the neck groove. Stained. Scuffs and scratches scattered around, a couple of scuffed areas above the sand blasting are a bit deeper than standard. Couple of very small surface bubbles. The all important sand blasting is very indistinct, Victoria Hotel is able to be seen on close inspection, Roebourne is harder again to decipher as it is very indistinct and light. Regardless, this is an exceedingly rare and important bottle, hence being sold in this state as a gap filler for your collection. Grade: 0 Estimate: $50 - 75
