Sold for A$80

Small bulbous apothecary jar: Ext. Opii. No makers mark. Pharmacy Purple and white with black and gold. Small bulbous jar. 72 mm. 1850s

Very Good. Patches of stain. Some fading to the purple colour in places. Scratches including some deeper ones down the back. Crazing, this is discoloured in places. Front lower body has a dark patch that has a rusty looking mark over it with a couple of short deep scratches. Has a lid, but is not original. Lid had a lump protruding to lock it into place on the jar it was intended for, to allow this to fit this jar, the owner has roughly ground this lump off. The gold around the print has possibly been applied in more recent times. The black print itself looks good, has a couple of little flakes. Grade: 7 Estimate: $30 - 40
