Pair of early utility bottles: 1. Flint glass utility with long neck. Deep indented base, possibly pontiled. 2. Pontiled flare lip clear glass utility. Early Glass Various 1. Applied top. Long neck. Tapered Body. Clear. Pontil. 7 oz. 2. Flared top, wide bodied jar with narrow neck. Clear. Pontil. 12 oz. 216 & 154 mm. 1850s
1. Good. Heavily stained and slightly etched throughout. Some opalescent stain. Deep pitted curved scratch to outer lip. Tiny nick to lower lip. Thin band of nibbles and bumps to heel would be the edges of the pontil. Some scratches and the odd scuff mark. A great piece of early glass which is quite light weight. 2. Very Good. Stained with a bit of etching in places. Some spots of rust. Pontil has some chips and flakes around it, this is as per manufacture. Some scratches and the odd scuff mark. Not sure what this contained, may have been pharmaceutical but the neck seems too narrow? Possibly spirits of some sort? Grade: N/A Estimate: $50 - 75
