Excellent. Same example as sold way back in Auction 6 (Lot 152) and despite listing a lot of Sharpe Bros demijohns over time we haven't had another example of this unusual print. This has been cleaned up a little bit since previously sold making it an even better example! Really nothing at all wrong with this. It has a dirty appearance with horizontal streaks of black specks, these appear to be from manufacture. There are some scratches to be found in the glaze, a couple of horizontal ones exist on either side of the mid rear. A small glaze flake to the mid rear as well. Some wear to a protruding rim around the base which has discoloured at the rear. Really a nice example of quite a rare variation with this "cartoon" style print. Grade: 8.8 Estimate: $300 - 400
