Excellent. Tiny 3 x 2 mm flake just through the glaze to the lip edge. Some upper lip grime. 5 x 4 mm very shallow glaze flake to left rear base edge. Similar flake to left side of spigot, with a smaller example above it, pretty much a spot of deep wear. Surface scratch which is slightly scuffed to left side of badge. A few light surface scratches. Small discoloured spot or two. Tiny nick or two. Superb, shiny glaze throughout. AMAZING item, the stamps on both sides are the same blue as the lip! The badge at the front takes up the whole side! This was found under house, with the Gage wooden tap in place, so it is definitely original to this piece. Exceedingly rare and desirable, I rate this as the best Tasmanian demijohn! Comes in two sizes, this smaller one is the first to ever be offered for sale in a public auction! Grade: 8.1 Estimate: $4000 - 5000
