Dutch long neck black. Base Mark: Wynand Fockink / Amsterdam. (Netherlands) Spirits Liqueur String lip with applied lip ring. Long ladies leg type neck. Black. 26 oz. 247 mm. 1840s
Very Good. Jan Bierman started a spirit distillery and tasting room in the center of Amsterdam in 1679, then Mr. Wynand Fockink took it over in 1730. It still operates, offering one of the largest selections of jenevers and liquours in Amsterdam. The shop also displays fascinating antique equipment and bottles from the 17th century. This bottle is very early, possibly prior to the 1840s I mentioned? It is stained throughout. It has a scuffed nibbled area over about 40 mm to the base edge. A few small flakes to base edge and heel. A few little surface nicks to the body. Some scratches, a bit of surface rust and some scuff marks. A great piece of early glass that was Australian found! Grade: 7.1 Estimate: $150 - 200
