Pair of Salad Oils: 1. Fluted Salad Oil. Two rings in neck. Round label space. Diamond to base (in similar style to many Lewis & Whitty, Melbourne bottles). 2. A. C. Parkin & Co / Carlton. Base: H117? / M / Modern AGM Monogram. (Victoria) Household Salad Oil 1. Fluted or ribbed sides. Two rings in neck. Tool finished top. Aqua. 5 oz. 2. Fancy facetted neck. Panelled lower section. Spun finished top. Clear. 5 oz. 240 & 232 mm. 1900s & 1930s
1. Excellent. Annealing marks in the neck. Just minor marks around the body. Some dirt inside the base. An unusual variation of the fluted Salad oil. The type of Diamond on the base (and being Melbourne found) suggests this was one of Lewis & Whitty's bottles. But a nice Salad oil whatever the case. 2. Excellent. Unusual later variation of the Parkin salad oil. Beautiful condition with some haze and minor marks. Like the "modern" Codds made by AGM these later Parkin bottles have a H at the start of the base mark and despite coming form the fully automated era still have a spun finish to the top. Not an easy bottle to get either! Grade: N/A Estimate: $40 - 60
