Four etched Glasses: 1. Smith's / Hotel. Base Mark: (Crown / Ware) within a crown. (Victoria?) 2. Gallagher's / Hotel // (ULVA monogram). No base mark. 3. Brock's / 7 / Hotel. No base mark. (Victoria?) 4. Carra's / Cafe. No base mark. (Swan Street, Richmond, Victoria) Beer Glass Beer glass. Sand blasted. 7 oz and cafe glass is smaller. 134 - 80 mm. 1930s-1940s
1. Very Good. Smith's Hotel was in - well, pretty much every town in Australia over the years, it almost seems as though Smith is a common surname? Sourced in Victoria though, so this will likely be from a Victorian location, which should narrow it down to several hundred options only! A few nibbles and one small flake to the outer rim edge. A bit of light haze throughout. Some scratches and scuff marks. 2. Very Good. Which Gallagher's Hotel? Who knows, but I would suggest a Victorian one with the vendor sourcing these from Victoria. Some scuffed wear around the upper glass. Tiny flake or two to heel. Some scuffs and scratches. 3. Good. Where was Brock's Hotel? In this 1930s-1940s era, one Victorian one that fits is Brock's Commercial Hotel in South Morang? Don't know for sure though. This glass has a crack over 37 mm from the rim at the left rear side. Couple of tiny nibbles to the base edge. One tiny flake to rim. A few fine scuffs and scratches. 4. Near Mint. Carra's Cafe was in Swan Street, Richmond, Victoria for a short while in the mid 1930s. Tiny nick to base edge. Some fine scuffs and scratches. Lovely little item, this would not be a beer glass, but is listed as such to group similar items together. Grade: N/A Estimate: $30 - 50
