Toohey's. Smooth base. (Sydney, New South Wales) Household Cordial "Bloggs" shape. Pedestal base. Four panels to the back. Bulbous shoulder with fruit and leaves embossed. Fancy neck. Tool finished top. Sun coloured amethyst. 26 oz. 300 mm. 1910s
Fair. Well it is in one piece and does actually display very well (has been shown with great success in part of a superb cordial collection!) But, in the right back neck is a crack going across the middle of the ribs and then another that runs from the middle of this down to the mid back shoulder. A few small surface impacts/bruises around the back neck as well. On the leaves on the front is a bruise to the upper left and another deeper fracture and bruise on the leaves above roughly the HEY of Tooheys. There is a crack that starts on the lower body about 20 mm below the E of Tooheys and runs to about 12 mm behind the seam line at mid body. There is another T intersection of cracks in the upper mid back. A couple more small bruises and a discoloured burst bubble. Couple of short cracks lower down the back. The left base edge has a really large bruised and fractured area and on the front side of this is a popped out bruise. A bit of haze and some minor marks. As stated it actually displays very well so is still a good opportunity to obtain a really rare bottle. Grade: 5 Estimate: $300 - 400
