Large teepee style Goldfields salad oil. Faint round pontil scar to base. Goldfields Salad Oil Eight sides with heavy lines embossed up the middle of each side. Thin applied lip. Ice Blue. 26 oz. 311 mm. 1840s-1850s
Excellent. Some fine impurities in the surface of the glass on one side. A little scuff or two. At first glance thought it had been polished but not entirely sure as the impurities area seems like it would be a bit smoother if it had. Perhaps just very lightly cleaned. In any case a superb example of a very rare and attractive goldfields bottle. Grade: 8.9 Estimate: $1200 - 1800
