RUM / (British Coat of Arms) / (Two LARGE Lions). No potters stamp. Pottery Rum Yellow-Green type glaze, slab seal barrel. 1 Gallon. 273 mm. 1860s
Good. 60 mm chip to the right upper rim has been repaired. The entire rim is painted, but apart from the chip mentioned, the rest seems to be original. There may be one or two small touch ups around the rim. A few small glaze flakes to the laid on design. Couple of glaze flakes to the body are likely blow outs from making. Flake to base edge to the right of the spigot. Small flake to left of the spigot at base edge. A few splits from making to the design. Crazing scattered around from manufacture. A stunning piece of pottery with the huge laid on lions and coat of arms, this is a mighty impressive piece. Grade: 6.7 Estimate: $100 - 150
