Hart & Gallagher / Standard / Petersham. (Two piece chimney pot fashioned on a crown). (New South Wales) Pottery Chimney Pot Two piece salt glaze chimney pot fashioned on a crown. Body: 350 mm. Crown: 235 mm.. 1900s
Body is Very Good. 25 x 16 mm shallow flake to the upper rim. Couple of small flakes to the base edge and some very minor wear. 150 mm hairline from base edge goes up and just touches the right side of the potters stamp. Seem to have a large amount of overspray from a nearby painting job at some stage, this will clean off with the right solvent. Wonderful crude making marks throughout. Crown is also Very Good. A few flakes to the inner part that slots into the body. A couple of these look to be making marks. A hairline to this part as well. The crown area is really good with a couple of fine hairlines, otherwise just making marks. A great piece of early New South Wales pottery, possibly made to commemorate something to do with Queen Victoria? This is too big and heavy to post, will either need to be picked up, or sent by Pack and Send. Grade: 7.5 Estimate: $200 - 300
