Amethyst Coloured Goldfields Panelled Salad Oil. No Base Mark. Goldfields Salad Oil Applied top. Amethyst. 13 oz. 274 mm. 1860s
Very Good. Oiled internally. Annealing marks to the inner lip. Stained throughout. Grimy internally from the oil. 16 mm long thin mark near rear base edge may be some form of surface bruise, there appears to be a small associated impact mark. Little impact to front base edge. A few little nicks. Some scratches and one or two little nicks. This is all about the colour which is very odd indeed. A weird amethyst colour that has apricot tones as well. From a very old collection that was not tampered with, we believe this is 100% original colour. Grade: 7.5 Estimate: $100 - 150
