J, Munro. No potters stamp. Ginger Beer Convict Impressed salt glaze convict style ginger beer. 10 oz. 183 mm. 1830s-1840s
Very Good. Crude lip has no damage at all, maybe just some very fine glaze wear. Small thin potters blowout to front outer lip. Small kiln kiss type mark to mid rear body. 12 x 5 mm shallow flake under front base heel. 8 x 7 mm very shallow flake to right base edge. Some other little nibbles and odd marks around the lower body and base edge, which may be from making. Couple of making splits under the base. A few small potters blowouts to the body and some darker spots which are making marks. Some glaze wear in places. Good impression, the dot is a comma on this one. Very early and rare, with the J in the stamp and a comma, this is a very rarely seen variation which is a significant items for any convict collection. You will not get another chance to buy a rarity like this any time soon! Grade: 7.4 Estimate: $5000 - 6000
