Green Goldfields Pickle. No base mark. Goldfields Pickle Applied top. Green. 1 Pint. 239 mm. 1870s
Very Good. This one is all about the colour. This is a common shape for a goldfields pickle, but this is the first green one we have seen. Not sure it is the same age as the common aqua versions, it may be a tad later, but certainly an 19th century piece. 6 x 4 mm chip to upper lip. Stained internally. Shallow surface internal bubble. A little dullness externally. Couple of impact type fisheyes to lower body and base edge on the corners. Some minor glass nicks. Some scratches. Fantastic colour. Grade: 7.3 Estimate: $50 - 100
