Three Ararat historical items: Small album full of portraits, from Gove & Allen's, No. 324 George Street, Sydney. Seems to relate to J. A. Little, Heatherlie, Ararat. Also two empty frames for Ambrotypes. (Victoria) Ephemera Three items: Small album full of portraits, from Gove & Allen's, No. 324 George Street, Sydney. Seems to relate to J. A. Little, Heatherlie, Ararat. Also two empty frames for Ambrotypes. Album is 93 mm. Ambrotypes are both around 75 mm.. 1850s
Album is Excellent. The Little's were colonists in Ararat in the 1840s, Heatherlie is one of the earliest properties in the region. This album would likely depict the extended family, it is quite a significant item of Grampian's history. Some wear to the covers. The last two pages have no pictures. Superb item. The two covers for early photographs or Ambrotypes are quite good. Neither have pictures in them. One has a bit of wear. The other is in two pieces with the cover separating from the back. Grade: N/A Estimate: $100 - 150
