Three Pottery Items: 1. Statue head. 2. Sheep Match Striker. 3. Brown and tan small vase. Base Mark: Remued / 195. Pottery Statue head, Sheep Match Striker & Brown and tan vase. 115, 81 & 95 mm. 1900s-1940s
1. Fair. A clay head, not sure what this was for other than it is a statue of some sort. The bottom is broken, looks like it was mounted on something, but what and how much is missing is not known. Flake to left of his head. Chip to left rear collar. Heavy rust stain. Interesting item that we know absolutely nothing about. 2. Very Good. I have called this a match striker due to the rough glaze on the sheep, but I am likely wrong as there is noweher to store your matches. Age is unknown, it was found at an 1890s site, but could well be somewhat earlier. The right ear has glaze wear to the tip of it. Some dark crazing where the sheep meets the body, both front and back. Dark hairline under base. Another short one to front near the base. Glaze nick or two to base edge. Couple of little glaze nicks to the base edge. A really nice little item. 3. Very Good. 6 x 3 mm flake to inner lip. Small spot of wear also to inner lip. Base edge has either two glaze misses or two section of worn glaze, these are about 30 mm and 25 mm long, but thin strips. A few little glaze nicks. Interesting colouration. Grade: N/A Estimate: $50 - 70
