Pair of Tin advertising rulers 1. Pleasance's Pharmacy, Prahran. (Victoria) 2. Tin ruler advertising Saunders' Malt Extract, 143 Castlereagh Street, Sydney and Abbotsford, Melbourne. (New South Wales, Victoria) Medicine Chemist Tin rulers 305 mm. 1940s
1. Very Good. At first I thought it was odd to have millimetres on this seemingly 1940 ruler, can't have that in the 1940s, must be later? However, I have just found that metric units first became legal for use in Australia in 1947 when Australia signed the Metre Convention, so this could well be late 1940s? Anyway, nice condition, there is some surface corrosion. A bit of wear. Some scratches. Great colours and advertising for their fluo mixture. The rear of this ruler has a protractor of sorts on it. 2. A bit of wear. Some scratches and little flakes. Great colours and advertising for their malt extract aiding the digestion of other foods. The rear of this ruler has a protractor of sorts on it. Grade: N/A Estimate: $30 - 50
