T. C. Ennis & Co / Amphitheatre. No potters stamp. (Victoria) Demijohn Impressed Handled stoneware demijohn. Tan top. Impressed. 1 Gallon. 294 mm. 1910s

Very Good. 12 x 8 mm chip to front lip. A few small flakes around the left lip to the rear. One small flake to the outer right lip. Handle has a crack across the highest part. Right rear base edge has a 19 x 9 mm chip. Nibbled chip to right base edge is from making, the upper part of this is glazed. Front left base edge has a pushed up dint which has pushed a bulge out a bit. Pottery blowout alongside a lump to the mid front left body. A bit of glaze wear to the rear half of the demijohn. Making split across the upper impressed writing. Some light scratches and minor marks. Amphitheatre is a small town south west of Avoca in country Victoria. This is an extremely rare demijohn, we are not aware of any others. Grade: 7 Estimate: $500 - 600
