Large plain Stoneware bottle with flared top. (Found with early Fowler stamped Ginger Beers, Sydney, New South Wales) Pottery Stoneware Large cylinder. Flared top. Crude glaze. 20 oz. 248 mm. 1830s-1840s
Good. Cracks/hairlines down one side - 88 mm, 30 mm, 25 mm and 50 mm. Some small chips around the lip. Otherwise just rough. Was found with "Convict" style ginger beers. Would certainly seem to be Australian made as it is just too crude for imported English pottery at the time. Unusual form, maybe a long lost Samuel Skinner piece (wishful thinking!) Grade: 6.4 Estimate: $20 - 30
