J. Leeson / J. L. / A. (Within a Heart) / Alberton. South Gippsland // Lemonade. Base Mark: M. (Victoria) (James A. Lerk Collection) Aerated Water Codd Applied top, spun finish. Four way pour Dobson style patent with four dimples. Aqua. 13 oz. 218 mm. 1910s
Good. This is different to the others we have sold, it has lemonade to the rear. There are a couple of flakes to the front upper lip and a nibble or two. Some inner dirt that should mostly wash out. Some grime externally that will wash off. Little surface flake to rear shoulder. Some nibbles to a few of the embossed letters. Some scratches and the odd scuff. The surface mainly to the front has some odd dips, little holes going into the glass giving it a deep orange peel effect. This has a slightly smoky colour to it, this is possibly some heat damage? It could also be the way it was made? With no other heat damage around these spots it is hard to tell one way or the other. A decent example of a scarce bottle, this is from the James A. Lerk collection. Grade: 6.3 Estimate: $150 - 200
