P. G. Dixon & Co / (PGD&Co monogram) / Melbourne. No base mark. Original spout marked for P. G. Dixon & Co of Melbourne. (Victoria) (James A. Lerk Collection) Aerated Water Soda Syphon Clear, panelled, tapered syphon with pedestal base. 30 oz. 317 mm. 1900s
Good. No straw inside, the top comes off to reveal a nice lip with no damage. Some knocks and marks to the metal top. Impact nibbled mark to right shoulder. Some fisheyes around the shoulder too. The pedestal base has a series of chips, flakes and impacts nibbles around it. Plenty of grime scattered around which will wash off. Some inner haze. Small flake to rib amongst the print. Little pitted mark to upper rear. Flake to right rib lower down. Some wear to ribs lower down. A few fisheyes to the body and some impacts here and there. Scratches and scuffs to be found as well. An unusual shape that you rarely see, from memory I have seen Dixon's in this shape, but I thought they had the lion on them and not this monogram? This is from the James A. Lerk collection. Grade: 6.5 Estimate: $75 - 100
