China Pin Dish or Ash Tray: Mousquetaire - 1724 (Musketeer). Signed by Echepure. Pottery French China Pin Dish or Ash tray, multi coloured. 110 mm wide. Unknown
Very Good. The vendor suggested this was a Vincennes piece from around 1768? I am no expert so cannot say for sure. It does appear though that Vincennes were only in operation from 1740-1756 in the Limoges region, and so it can't be Vincennes dating to 1768! The print looks to be overglaze, is this the style used in such times? Possibly is a Limoges piece, seems to be somewhat later though? Has the French writing for Musketeer on it. The mauve coloured outer rim has wear through the glaze in places. The gold leaf is also worn in places. Some scratches and minor marks. Very interesting piece. Grade: 7.5 Estimate: $50 - 75
