Large lead glazed Dutch cooking pot. Pottery Earthenware Earthenware. Yellow-Green Lead Glaze. Double Handle. Three Feet to base. 149 mm. 1620s-1650s
Repaired. Has been put together from five original pieces. Inside the bowl are scratches and marks from years of use. Outside, particularly on the unglazed sections there is lots of charring and the like from its time on the fire. The repair has just been minimal as far as simply putting the pieces nicely together and not trying to disguise it. One foot is partially broken but the pot still stands well with a slight lean. Wonderful early piece. (From the Ian Mastin collection whose exceptional still life artwork includes many of these pieces - http://www.ianmastin.com/) Grade: N/A Estimate: $100 - 150
