Majolica glazed spittoon. Pottery Australian Australian majolica glazed spittoon. About 210 mm across. 1900s
Good. This would be Australian, maybe Bendigo Pottery? The inner rim near the small opening has a few thin flakes. These are part of cracks which come about half way up this slanted upper surface towards the highest outer rim. Two shallow chips to the upper, outer rim. Small flake or blowout as well to this rim. Outer rim both at top and bottom has a few flakes which are just glaze depth. One or two under base heel as well. There is a hairline along base edge from one of these flakes, about 40 mm long. Plenty of crazing throughout. Quite a nice looking piece of pottery, discounting what this was originally used for, these are quite attractive. Grade: 6.2 Estimate: $40 - 60
