Sold for A$35

Four large phenyles: 1. Anderson Manfg Co. 2. Coghlan's. 3. Crown Chemical Coy. 4. McK & R. (Victoria) Poison Phenyle/Disinfectant All are applied top, spun finish. Aqua. 26 oz. 1. 221 mm. 2. 220 mm. 3. 234 mm. 4. 230 mm.. 1910s-1920s

1. Very Good. Some light dullness. Surface bubble or two. Some scuffs and scratches. Lovely early style with square lip, full of airbubbles and the company in a slug plate, this is a nice bottle. This has chamfered corners at the bottom. 2. Very Good. 14 x 7 mm flake to base heel. Some scuffs and scratches scattered around. Surface impact nick or two to the body. Spot or two of surface rust. 6 x 5 mm bruise next to E near base. Small impact flake near right base edge. Similar style to the previous one, but this is a "transitional" phenyle. The lip is rounded on this one and you can see where the mould has been altered to remove the chamfered corners on this one at the base. 3. Very Good. Looks better. There is a fine 15 x 7 mm bruise to rear lip. Burst bubble to the embossing. A few spots of pitted wear near rear shoulder. Some fine scuffs and scratches to the body. Inner stain near shoulder. May have had a light polish. A bit later again than the previous example, showing the continuing minor refinements over the years of the phenyle. 4. Very Good. Stained, this has oil inside. Some minor scuffs and scratches. This one would probably date in between number 2 and 3, the slug plate is larger on this one, so another "style" variation. This was made for McKellan and Ramsay. Grade: N/A Estimate: $50 - 75
