The Standard / (Scales) / Improved / Fruit Jar. Base: Made / in / Belgium. (Australia) Household Jar Straight sided but rounded edge to base. Screw thread. Ground lip. Very wide shoulder. Clear. Somewhere between Quart and Half Gallon. 197 mm. 1900s
Excellent. Just the usual nibbles and small chips all around the inside of the ground lip with one fine flake down the outside. Body of the jar is lovely. Embossing a bit light. These jars seem to have been made (along with a few other Made in Belgium jars) for Australia. This one seems to be an unusual shape compared to most Standard jars. Comes with a lid which however doesn't fit properly. Grade: 8.3 Estimate: $100 - 150
